Hey Sam. That would sure be cool if it was one of your mate's.
Here's a link to the place I got the picture. Just scroll down a bit and it was on the left. I'd like to know more about the bike myself.

The guy that took it to 200mph was Don Sliger, I'm not 100% sure but I think it is in the UK now, that's if it's the same bike.

Oh, okay. Even owning the bike would be something cool (to me). Shot, even owning a similar bike would be something! 8) ;) Myself, I would even feel good just knowing someone who owns an Interceptor, cause I'd be forever and a day tryin' t deal him out of it! ;D Have a good one Sam. ;)

Hey Billy, I put a post on another forum last night to see if I could find anything about it.
Seems it might be the same bike. The guy I thought had it rode it a few years ago. His name is Terry Homan, I used to race with him back in the day. He is now a promoter doing sprints, land speed racing and drag racing at several of our southern airfields.
He will probably be on line to confirm before the night is out.

Watch this space over the next few hours.  or see it here as the news breaks  http://www.200mph.net/smf/index.php?topic=55498.750

Hey Sam, Thanks for the link to that forum. Bet that takes you back, eh! ;) I saw a twin engine Triumph back in the 60's, that was called "Double Trouble". On one run, he hit some oil on the drag strip and almost had some REAL double trouble! Talk about SQUIRRELLY! :o

A good thing about the British bikes (like Royal Enfield, the older BSAs and Triumphs for sure) the Trans. was actually a seperate component and helped when a Twin Engine bike was being developed. Not THAT easy when doing a Twin Engine bike that has a unit construction motor/trans.

                             Later on, Bill :) ;)

Unit gearboxes are no problem Billy, take a look at the tripple Kawasaki that Pete built.

I remember that one Billy, not sure if it was the one that came over here in the 60s or if I remember it from the American magazines I used to buy.
I think the rider was Bob Hare or somthing like that. It sure was a real tyre smoker.

I havn't heard any more about the RE. Terry the guy that had it didn't come on line and the forum is now in bed ;D ;D ;D ;D
I did send Terry a PM telling him to get onto the thread with some info.
As I will be off line myself for the next few days, you'll have to keep your eye on the link to the 200mph forum.

LOCOMOTION.. funny you should say that!!..

because Russ Collins called his Triple 1000 cc'd SOHC Honda..the Atchison,Topeka & Santa Fe..  after a train..

One of our highlights of the Boneville trip in Sept..

Thumbing a ride to the track at the salt, we would leave our bikes on the end of the paved part. A motorhome stops to give us a ride..nice looking gal invites us in.. starts chatting.. tells us that Boris (the driver) and her dad(also sitting up front) have been coming here for years and they used to race way back.. so I asked if Boris raced a Triumph double at the drags.. he said yes, I said well you must be Boris Murray, I used to read about your racing victories all the time!! The girls dad up front was Dave Campos who ran the Easyrider streamliner.. went down on the salt with it once..he took the World top speed record away from Kawasaki way back and held it for quite a long time!!

Pretty cool who is out there on the salt, the hitching a ride led us to meat a lot of interesting folks..

Hi Billy, have you been checking the 200mph site out.
Seems that it was the same bike that Terry rode. It got destroyed a few years back when the British Motorcycle Museum got burnt to the ground.
The bike was rebuilt as was the museum and it is still there today. Someone posted a few pics on the thread in the 200mph forum.

Yeah Sam, I've joined up over there and looked around some. I saw the picture you were talking about with you all standing there with the Twin engined Triumph and I saw the Twin engined Royal Enfield too. That's good that they built up another bike when the original was destroyed. I can only imagine how that sucker would run. I wonder, was the 2nd one built for the look, or will it run as well as the 1st one? I know I won't be able to, but I still would like to hear and see that sucker run. 8) ;)
