CB550 with drag pipes: Where to find the ends?
« on: January 15, 2008, 11:52:48 AM »
I recently purchased an old cb550 that came equiped with 4 into 4 drag pipes; the ones that are quite common.  Two sides have the turned down end pipe, while two are missing them.  Is there any where to find these?  I would even be more interested in a small cylindrical cone for each if I could find an attachment to two exhaust pipes (similar to exhaust cone in pic). Anyone have some pointers? Thanks

  • If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's electrical

As goofy as it may sound, the chrome tip in the picture almost looks like your regular, run of the mill chrome exhaust tip, like what you would get at your auto parts store.

you could go to Carpys web site and ask him where he got the one for the bike in the pic you posted.  http://www.cb750cafe.com/contact.php  That one in the pic is for a cb750 4 into 1 so you will need a smaller diameter.

Ya, I looked at the local auto stores and found nothing.
And to tell you the truth, I will end up just making something rather than talking to Carpy, rubs me the wrong way a little.
Thanks for the replies, any idea where to find the single turn down tips for the old drag pipes for a cb?
