« on: January 16, 2008, 02:58:06 PM »
I'm thinking of trading the 750 to someone who has a real nice 71-73 350 SL.
No I haven't found one yet but if I do.

after y'all get through running  me through the wringer,

Can I still visit here if I find a good SL?

Avoiding the existentialist and ontological implications of the question (I just like those words), I think TT has already rendered a considered opinion.  Maybe you could participate over in 'Other Bikes'.

If you want to send the 750 my way, I'll be willing to reconsider the possibilities.

Now let's not get nasty. Rock trading down is kinda like Lee at Appomatix.

If you do make sure it has the original exhaust system on it. The exhaust systems are rarer than the whole bike. I do know a guy in Dallas who restores them, I can find his e/mail address if you'd like.

Hey GNX, yea I'd appreciate it if you find his email.
I'm afraid the ol 750 would just sit around and go down since
I've ridden it very little since the Duc. I know the SL would get used
around the farm and besides, my first bike was a 73 Blue 350SL.

I wonder if I could sneak it in the shop, keep all 3,  and the wife wouldn't know. ;D ;D

Hey RM, here's a solution.

Get rid of all the bikes, and go with one of these!

(Yes, the wife actually sent that from work.  And here I am thinking she does something useful out at the labs... ::))

Yeah, you can stay RM, but no voting rights, so stay out of the polls! Of course you could do what half of these guys here do and just buy an old 750 beater, lean it against your outhouse, call it a "project" and bore everyone witless about the merits of "F"s versus "K"s, comstars versus spokes, points versus electronic ignitions, all the while ignoring that pile leaning up against your #$%*house!  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I have read many times how people complain about that bike that they sold to buy another one.

What I do is to buy the ones I like without selling the previous one, to decide later which one will I sell. That's what I told my wife and now I have 5 bikes and a moped.

What I didn't told her was when did I intend to put them for sale. If she insist, I will ask for an outrageous amount of money so nobody will buy them -or if they buy, that would be a great deal for me-. Believe me, after a couple of months, the ol' lady got used to see the bikes on the garage and won't complain.

Get the SL, live with them for a while and then decide whether you want to get rid of one, both or none.
