this is some more info on the morris mag that i'm trying to sort out.

The rear sprocket is rubber mounted using bushings that fit over the mounting bolt into over sized hole's on the sprocket.

Any info on this. What bike used this.
I'v been around bikes and a shop my whole life and have never found this on any other Rim.
My guess is that it is there to take the snap force away from the Alum hub insert.

I'l spec the sprocket latter and post it and see if it rings a bell.
Yep, i have issues with this sort of stuff.

Its a Morris cush drive..set of beer colored urethane bushings with a steel sleeve.. goes in about a 7/8 hole on the sprocket on the bolt circle.

What may or may not be there but should, is a pair of metal plates, one goes on eac side to prevent sproket from going sideways.

I got this setup in my toolbox!

I just have a kit, I think who I got it from used the sprocket. It was on a skinny 18 Inch rear that I still have.

Get a blank and machine it or send your specs in to the sprocket maker.. might be easier to get 2 differnt tooth count sprockets so you have gearing choises.

My .02$.I have Morris alum. mags on my unit.It came with the cush drive. One day cruising on a city street,I rolled off the throttle and all the sprocket bolts snapped.Cushions I think were a little soft and allowed too much side load on bolts.Anyway,I drilled and tapped the holes for3/8" bolts, deep sixed the cush drive, and countersunk the holes in a new sprocket ,and used 3/8" countersunk bolts.Works fine, looks good, and has survived muchos high load miles with no problems, and I like the more positive feel too.

Sprocket Specialists still carries the unique bushing kit for Morris Mag rear wheel, replaced my rear sprocket this past summer w/ the kit.
