A Beautiful Aussie Poem..............
« on: January 16, 2008, 06:29:29 PM »
Extremely touching and thought provoking!!

I found this beautiful Aussie Summer poem and thought it might be a comfort to you.   It was to me and it's very well written; I  hope  you enjoy it because it's the best piece of English literature I've seen in quite a while....

                                              'An Aussie Summer'

A poem by  Abigail Elizabeth McIntyre:

Fuuck, It's HOT ! ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Even New Mexico might qualify there, Terry!  And we're still in the US, though some don't think so.

Speaking of said place, it was -16.9C this morning at my house.  In Santa Fe!  This dry cold ruins the quality of the snow.  Turns it into hard slab.  And I haven't brought the batteries into the house from our bikes.   :-[

Now what was that about Aussie poems and Aussie weather?

I feel your pain Mordy, but in reverse, it's too hot here to play in my garage, so I'm sipping Bourbon with ice in it that's warmer than your place! Oh well, I'm not looking to the freezing winters we have here, a couple of times last year it got down to 60 deg F! Brrrrr! ;D
