Generally, the older they are, "K" models anyway, the more valuable, relatively speaking. The  "sandcast" is really a sub-set of the first year of production, roughly the first 7700 or so. I'm not sure if there isn't perhaps a separate distinction for the "F" models. I kind of like them myself, so perhaps they also have a category of value starting with the ealiest F's.

So the "K" models are considered to be better? Is a "78" K model a good one? Thats what i got, i am just wondering.

I wouldn't say the "K" models are better, they just came earlier. The "F" models were a styling/performance change that came a few years after the introduction of the 750. All things considered, a '78 would be less valuable, but as far as I am concerned, they are all great bikes to be enjoyed no matter the year or model.

The 1977 CB-750 K is the most valuable!

Why?

Because thats the year I own!

Generally speaking the first and last years are the most desireable in anything that forms a basis of collectibility. For the SOHC production bikes, the sandcasts are the big ticket winners. However, whatever year turns your crank is the most pleasing to you.

I would say the latter models are the best for a rider, as they had all the little gremlins sorted out. Generally, the older the better for the dire reason that there are less around so they are more exclusive.

Thats about it. If you were to go with quality, the 77-78 would be best. For rarity the sandcast of course wins that one. I personally prefer the 78K. not just cause I have one but I like the look better.

There isn't that huge a difference in value, unless you get into rare / specific collectors bikes. Most SOHC fans still ride these bikes. There is no 64 1/2 Mustang version, as far as I can tell.
