Has anyone run the 2" lower rear shocks on their 750? Does it create any problems with handling, stability or whatever?

Just wondering.

I've run the lowering block kit to move the rear shock lower anchor point back.  I've actually run it on several bikes- all else being stock.  I think it is an improvment in comfort and handeling for anyone shorter than 6'.

It actually improves (real) high-speed handling, like in sweeping turns, by increasing the forward trail to about 4.2".
But, the sidestand comes out too short, making it hard to park the bike (gotta shorten the sidestand). And the centerstand lift is $%#@! difficult, because you end up lifting the bike straight up for like, 4+ inches.   :P

And, if you are a hotrod corner-rider (like me), you'll grind those rear footpeg mounts into little slanted pieces in a hurry!   :o

Other than that, it's fine!   :D

What about the rear tire clearance with the fender. Mine had lowering blocks and there was not a lot of tire clearance with the fender. It has a 16" rim with a 5.10-16" tire mounted in the rear. I would guess about 2" clearance with me sitting on the bike. There were rub spots on the under side of the fender when I raised it back to stock height. I weight about 185/190, but the shocks are original I believe and the springs are probably weak now so that was part of the problem!!

I have never struggled with getting a bike up on the center stand.  Some say it's technique, but it's just so natural i never even thought to mention it.  The side stand will be more upright, but with the blocks I did not need to shorten it.  It is on the hairy edge, but my bike has never fallen over, and the blocks have been on for about 10 years.

Here is a pic of the bike with the blocks and an unmodified side stand.
