Hi
Well i can make them, the pipe on my bike is very close to the Yosh pipe and i hand bent and tig welded them. I made 3 headers and sold 2 on ebay. I will need to make another Jig but it was not that hard
If you all can wait tell summers end i might be able to get set up to make a few.
I need to get to Seattle and grab the rest of my tools, i'm hoping to get over there in may.
Also i want to start making some REPRO- Dresda swing arms, or something way better.

I just finished grad school so i'm just getting set up in a shop hear in SF, its slow going.

A hand-bent race pipe is about as hardcore as you can get on a motorcycle. Its like the difference comparing Valentino Rossi's M1 exhaust and a stock R1 pipe. The hand-made welds and smooth-radius bends are all there to see and appreciate for what it is. Its nasty in a good way.

APTech went directly through Yosh, they still make 400/4 pipes.

736cc that bike sounds awesome! Was that your wife/girlfriend or daughter? At the end of the video it sounds like she started to give you the business, had to laugh as it sounds like something I would have my wife do.

I have been asking around to a bunch of people that have used the X-pipe, Yamiya Yosh Knock off and a Yosh hand bent pipe. Here is some of the responses I have got:

X-Pipe - junk, poorly made, terrible paint a ton of fabrication to get the to hang right. Did not sound right

Yamiya Yosh knock off - quiet also poorly made

Yoshi hand bent pipe - incredible

It sounds as if all three pipes will be a re-jet and needles moved. I got an e-mail from Japan yesterday, the Yamiya pipes are going to cost $442 to Ohio it looked like.

Did I mention I may have a set of X-pipes for sale.....

By hook or by crook, I'll have a few hand-bent Yosh race replica pipes done-up before Spring. I'm on a CB750 mission, so LOOK OUT!

Might even do some ACTION Fours replicas, I used to have them on my 500/4, they were really nice...

Yes, easy, all the head positioning for the exhausts are the same, you just need the spigots for that style exhaust, and you'd be set

I scored a beautiful chromed original Yoshimura pipe for my CB750 earlier this month, the owner had it hanging up in his shed for years, he didn't like it because he couldn't use his centre stand.

Lucky for me it hasn't done much work, and is in excellent shape. The older ones like Andy's (736's) were paper thin (to keep the weight down, I guess) and rotted worse than OEM pipes.

Luckily for me, mine is the later version with the straight headers, and slightly thicker material, and it's rust free. The one on my Yoshimura equipped GS1000 literally fell apart when I fired the engine up!

I don't know what the holdup is with Andy's pipes, they'd be simple to make, just using exhaust bends. but Yamiya are selling Yosh replica's, so maybe he's decided it's not worth it? Cheers, Terry.

Fortunately, I have one of the early Yoshi pipes (like 736cc) (as well as a 2nd Gen) that I've been considering reproducing. Unfortunately, however, I spoke to Carpy a couple days ago and he told me that he had already started to locally reproduce the early hand-bent version at a projected $400 retail.

Also, unless I'm incorrect, I believe that Mark McGrew at M3 racing had a reproduction early Yoshi set on eBay in the last few weeks, although the price was huge.

Anyway, it looks like everyone who has patiently waited will have a couple options available to them soon. Rather than mount the NOS original, I'll probably just pick up a repro set as well. RR
