I just picked up a perfect bike. It is a 1974 CB-550 with 619 miles on the clock ! It was owned by a wealthy man who's family took it from him so he would not hurt himself. They hid it in a friends warehouse. It is all there and need a good carb cleaning, new battery, seat has a tear, and is unfortunatly missing the left side cover. But it is a worthwhile piece to bring back to life. I shot some starter fluid into the airbox and it fired right up. Then I removed the carbs for cleaning. Now it is intense elbow grease time. I have been riding for quite a while, well, 38 years or so. I currently have a 1983 Honda CB1100F with an 1123 kit, CR carbs, cams, and a ton of other mods, another CB1100F that is 100% stock, and a 2006 Yamaha FJR 1300 for touring. My wife has a 2006 Honda Interceptor. We do like our bikes. I came across this 550 and could not pass it up. Now all I have to do is get it all cleaned up and back together for the road. If I did it right, here are a couple pics of when I brought it home. My avitar is the speedo from the bike.
