Where & How does a CB550K Ignition switch mount?
« on: January 26, 2008, 11:41:01 AM »
Can someone tell me (or post picture) where and how a CB550K ignition switch mounts.
I'm trying to relocate the switch and can't find a good location for it.

Thanks
FJ

In other words, what bike do you have?

Earlier K models had the key switch mounted on the left frame down tube under the tank.

TT

I'm looking for the early 550K mount.
I have a 77 CB550F and want to relocate away from the upper triple.

How and at what location does the switch mount to the down tube?

Thanks again
FJ

There is a tab welded to the frame that accepts the switch mount.  The keyswitches themselves are quite different, BTW.

That's what I was concerned about. My F frame probably doesn't have the tab.
