Porsche Cayman

The eldest bought an 07 Cayman S. I just took it out for a spin on dry roads, the first time I drove it
in the snow :(
In the dry she kicks ass. Real nice feel, nice torque.

Here's a good video, still not up to the Lotus on the course.
But the Lotus is really a street legal race car. ;D ;D

Porsches are the most FUN to drive of any car, hands-down, they shift sooo nice, sound awesome, and handle like a race car. Almost all versions have h-performance motors that feel like the gas pedal is directly attached to the rear wheels. And all mechanics agree, Porsches (and Range Rovers) are the biggest POS, always in the shop for stupid things. Jaguars up there, too. You'll never see a Jap car on that list.
Car and driver voted the Porsche 928 as the the most expensive all-time car to bring in for service and repairs. New Porsches are definately the most common car where I live in NY, EVERYBODY has a new Porsche on Eastern Long Island.

I've got an '01 Boxster S and it's like driving a Go-Kart.  Absolutely love it.

Despite my move over to the water-cooled darkside, I firmly believe the only "true" Porsches are air-cooled.  My dream Porsche is a 1988 930; the last of the 4-speed Turbos.  Slightly modified, of course, to unleash its true potential, which was hampered by draconian US emissions laws.  I could also go for a 1970 911S, well optioned, or a 914-6, also well-optioned.  Wouldn't throw rocks at a '87-'89 3.2 Carrera either.

I've also got a '62 356B Normal.  I LOVE that car.  When I get back, it's getting a 912 engine, 12-volt conversion and a thorough going-over to be not just road-worthy, but daily-driver capable, (IE: dead-reliable).

While the Boxster is fun, yet tractable enough to be a daily driver, that 356 just speaks to my SOUL in a way the new car does not.  I'd actually rather drive it, even with all the compromises driving a 46-year old car comes with.

As I saw on a T-Shirt once, "Sure Porsche built cars after 1965, but who the hell cares?!?"

Love the bathtubs.  Keep the 356 Faith!

I thought there were a few Porsche lovers on here.

I'm still hoping for a Ferrari.
Don't want a new one, a 328 will do.  ;D

Would love to have either a 944 (Turbo or non Turbo im happy with either) a 924, or an early 911 or 912 with a 911 engine....but then again a 914 wouldn't be bad either (and its probably the only Porsche that this mere mortal could afford lol)
