wiseco 836 and the base gasket
« on: January 29, 2008, 10:09:04 AM »
Hey guys, I'm currently planning my rebuild and I have 2 quick questions.

a) I have a brand new honda oem base gasket from my gasket kit, but I'm going to be installing wiseco's 836 kit.  Do I need to purchase a new base gasket for the big bore or can I use the one I already have.

b)  Concerning rod and main bearings, are these things that are normally replaced during an engine rebuild?  Or are they something you check and determine whether they should be replaced?

For reference I have a stock 77 750K with 22k on the clock.

thanks

a) stock base gasket is fine

b) check and replace if needed
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Thanks, thats basically what I figured, but I'm new to this whole engine rebuilding thing so I wanted to make sure before I bought anything.
