When it rains...
« on: February 18, 2008, 10:40:40 AM »
Bad timing as I've already got a poject going and might be sleeping in the basement if anyone replies to my requests for info and pics but I've asked none the less.

Hoping to get fixer-uppers and clean, tune, polish them and sell to fund my own toys.  The wife can get overtime pay if she likes, I get nothing for working longer hours in the office so might as well make a few bucks doing something I enjoy, has actual identifiable end products, and gets another old bike back on the road.

Just make your intentions clear: "Honey, I am not going to be keeping it, I am going to sell it as soon as I get it running well again."

Sometimes that works...

Yeh.  I tried that with the 350 - 550 combo deal that someone else has now.  Gonna have to try the "ask for forgiveness" approach on the next one.

I got an e-mail about the bagger today that it's already sold so at least there's one I don't have to worry about.  Haven't heard from the others yet.  I never understand how people can be so slow to respond when they're trying to sell something.  I even call people back after I've sold it just so they know.  Doesn't make sense to me. :-\

So we're not friends, huh?   :D

If I hear from the person selling it I'll grab it and you can come get it when you're able.  No prob.

haha. Well, shoot me an email if you do hear from him :)

I judge a friend based on whether or not I would let them date a sister of mine :) No offense intended! Guess I do have a pretty screwy system *scratches head*

thanks Mark. Guess I've got you fooled too ::)

Mike, I just got the call from the lady and went by on my way back to the office.  I paid her for it and am picking it up tomorrow at 2pm.  Here's what I saw:

Rolling frame (no title)
Wiring harness has been cut near electric panel
Wheels are in very decent shape but dirty
Engine is in the shed and looks to be complete
Carbs are there and look GOOD
Pipes are solid 4into4 (worth much more than the $100 by themselves)
Oil tank and side cover in good shape (in shed)
Other pieces lying around to sort through tomorrow.

Could use some help pushing it up the hill in their back yard... ;D

Let me know if you're still interested and when you could make it down if you are.

Damn this is a good deal.  If you don't want it, that's cool.  I can take it ;D
