Matt, how did you get the old foam off and back on? Did it just peel off? What kind of glue did you use?

Hi Keith, I got the old foam off rather easily since the pan had started to rust underneath the foam and the foam was starting to peel off on its own. Where there was no rust was a little harder, I had to work the foam away from the edges and work my hand in between the foam and the pan to get er' loose. Only lost a few bits of foam, not enough to cause a problem. Thing I found is I couldn't pull the foam away from the pan, I had to sort of push it away with my hand from underneath. The real trick was getting the bits of rust off the foam after it was off. There's no easy way, just have to pick them off one by one.
The glue I used was a can of Contact Cement. Came in a can with a brush attached to the lid. I can get the brand name if you want that.... can't remember it off the top of my head.
The only reason I took the foam off was because I had two cracks to weld, on each side just ahead of the hinge area. Both of my seats have cracks here so I think it's a common problem.
I also sandblasted each side of the pan and gave it some fresh paint, except on the inside of the pan where the seat cover is glued. I left that bare and blasted for the glue to stick to.
Just took the clamps off tonight and glued the trim back on. Glue is good and solid, I just hope it holds up
We'll find out this summer when I'm sliding around on it.
