When I was in Holland in 1974 I remember there was a soccer match there between a Dutch team and the Tottenham Hotspurs, anyway, the organisers didn't seperate the supporters, and from the moment the crowd arrived it was on.

From memory, at least one supporter was killed, and the pictures on the news and in the papers were graphic, bodies everywhere, people covered in blood, incredible!

Now back to polishing my Triumph............. (singing to myself, "Rule, Brittania, marmalade and Jam........") ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Yup, it looks as if aussie sports is on the decline. Nice to see their rugger team catch a hammering.

I know it's only early in the first innings, but I'm reminded of a famous English poem that goes, "Come into my parlour, said the spider to the fly.................."  ;D

I've decided that both teams are very similar, they're both shiit.  :P

Tel, just noticed your little quotation from His Roight Dishonourable Moik o'Leary. Don't like the fella myself but he's spot on with that one.

It looks like the Aussies have done a terrific job of letting that innings go from Ashes to Dust.  :D

Did you hear about that Canadian woman who has a twitter account @theashes?

Apparently her boyfriend gave her that nickname "The Ashes" - but neither of them can remember why (?)

Now she's selling t-shirts saying "I'm not a freaking cricket match"

How quaint...

I think that I've found a solution for Ms Kerekes' Ashes dilemma Steve.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11862299
If she took up the offer of the free airline ticket to Aust,
I'm sure that there would be a willing helper to show her the meaning of "Bowling a Maiden Over"  :D

We copped the rough end of the pineapple with the FIFA decision and the Aussies are getting the same treatment in the second test match in Adelaide.  :'(  :'(

I heard President Obama saying that the decision to give the 2022 world cup to Quattar over America was "wrong", which to me sounded like he was saying it was rigged.

Obviously money talks and the committee were presumably all given some pretty big bribes, but considering Qatar is a pisssant little dump in the desert with a population of around 1 million, (and it's not a "Soccer" country) with 120+ degree temps outside of the airconditioned stadiums that they have to build just for the event, I can't imagine that many people will actually attend?

Oh well, I couldn't care less, Australia's not a real big soccer country either, #$%*t, we can't even play cricket! ;D
