......we're smashing you poms all over the place! (yeah, I know, I might have to eat my words, ..........

Ok you're on. Any bets?
If Oz wins then I'll donate $US50 to this forum, and if England wins you'll do the same.
It's for a good cause Terry, but let's see you put your money where..........you know the rest.
Heh, heh heh luvverly jubberly

Okay mate, 50 bucks it is, but you also have to post a pic of yourself bending over with your pants down and a note stuck to your bare arse that reads, "English Cricket Team Headquarters, for membership, enquire within". No worries? ;D

Poofies play cricket, boys play futbol, GENTLEMEN play rugby...

That is all.  ;)

Sorry, but I just can't give any credibility to a post from someone who uses the phrase "Poofies".............  :P
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Er, no thanks.posting a pic of me bare arse would cause all sorts of probs. Speleologists might express interest :D :D
But, I do remember an ex aussie rugby player, Campo I think, had to walk down Regents str. holding a sandwich board that said "I'm an Aussie tosser", or something after a bet on the telly.
Get your money ready.

To quote Rex Harrison playing Henry Higgins in the movie "My Fair Lady", "By George, she's got it!"  ;D

Quite correct mate, over here we use the term "poof", or "poofter" to describe someone who is openly effeminite, but the term can be used in just about any derogatory circumstance. For example, "Look at those Pommy Poofters, they're an embarrassment to the game of cricket, even the Dutch can beat them, and they're more p1ss weak than the French"

"Poofy", on the other hand is a word that can be used to describe an object, for example, "look at that poofy uniform those Pommy Poofters are wearing, it makes Liberace look positively macho! Or, "Fcuk me dead, that poofy pommy beer is only good for washing the dog sh1t off the pavement". I hope this has helped educate you, so that you can now feel confidant to jump in and give these pommy poofters a run! ;D

Well I was actually surprised when I saw the Pom's score, 435 is a good innings for sure, but now that we've settled back into it, with only 1/249 as I type this, I'm guessing that the England supporters, while still with a comfortable lead, have lost a bit of their swagger, and are now as nervous as a sheep at a New Zealanders bucks party! ;D

Hey Steve, make sure you take plenty of pics, it's a shame about the weather, but it's not as if it's never rained there, so cheer up mate, you should be used to it! ;D

Australia's first innings score is 5/545 as I type this, and the Poms look miserable............ well, more miserable than usual, ha ha! ;D

Getting a big score is good but given the Aussie "winning is all" mentality, surely they should have declared much sooner. Its never going to be anything other than a draw.

And I hear its raining...

The news headline here today is "Poms on the ropes and praying for more rain", and that just about sums up your post Steve, your media was having a field day running down Australia recently, and now they've (like you) gone into "limp mode".............  ::)

WRONG.....Steve, if you have watched how we play test cricket of late, we like to bat the opposition out of the game and thats what we have done.....Praying for rain is the only chance you have of a draw, if we get a full days play, at 2 for 20 you are in trouble......we won't need to bat again. And as far as the "winning is all" remark, Maybe if you guys played the same way you would have better results, we never play to loose..... ;D

Nah mate, we don't have rain (seriously, we've been in drought for 10 years now, and the recent bushfires put a big dent in our remaining water supplies here in Victoria) so we don't have water purifiers, our state government is building a massive desalination plant though, so as soon as that is up and running, we can stop importing Pommy beer to clean our dunnies, ha ha! ;D

The sun shone at Mallory.

The highlight was 12 Hailwood Replicas roaring around the track on their open Swarbricks.

What a collection, there was my mate Clive's CR750 ridden by Jim Redman, a couple of 500/4 and CBX550 variants and a host the Hungarian CBR250 versions.

So England hung on.

If Ponting hadn't let Haddin hang around for so long, Australia would have won.

Poor captaining decision...

You are kidding right..!!!!  It was measured perfectly.....more good luck than anything on England's part.

I stand by my point.

Ponting lost the match for you guys. The rain was well forecast so he knew he'd lose at least one session. It came down to a matter of minutes at the end. How long did he let Haddin bat for?

Oh, and we've never seen any "tactics" from the Aussies then?

You show me one game where we have wasted time just to let a game peter out for a draw, we ALWAYS play for a result, and last time i checked "tactics" are part of the game, time wasting is poor sportsman ship and NOT a tactic, just trying to save there arses from the backlash they would get in the "well known" English media. The main problem with the English cricketers is they talk themselves up every time they come to play Australia and then can't live up to it. Time to shut up and play the game the way its meant to be played and stop whinging because we play it harder and want it more. I actually still play cricket and had the pleasure of playing with some "pommy" imports last year and funnily enough they were of the same opinion... My son will be playing there in the near future as well on a ancestral visa as my Dad was from Newcastle.

The English team (nearly) lost the game through crap play.

The Aussie captain lost you the game.

End of.
