Hi Terry, I just wonder why the "professional" English batsmen played so many amateurish shots. Was it panic? On the village green in a Sunday match you will see week-end players who know how to get behind the ball when defending. I'm not making excuses, they were rubbish. I'll stick to my bike. John.
Ha ha, yeah John, I was watching Mike Atherton being interviewed on the ground during the lunch break on day two. There were some kids playing behind him, and he said that these 10 year olds were playing more professionally than the English cricket team!
One thing I've mentioned before is that even though Strauss made the grandiose comment that they no longer fear the Australians, I've noticed that if they're on the back foot like they were in this match, they just seem to lose their morale so quickly, you really can see it on their faces, and as I mentioned to Simon, I was so surprised to see them (Swann and Broad) fighting back, when the rest of their team had basically thrown the towel in.
Kudos to them, but the rest of the team certainly weren't earning their pay........... Enjoy your summer John, I hope you're getting out on your bike mate, I'm looking forward to some sun, and some warmth to go with it! Cheers, Terry.
