she lives!!!!!
« on: February 05, 2008, 12:25:33 AM »
got the old girl back together tonight, fresh fuel and kicked her in the guts.......
5 minutes later i was about to start tearing my hair out, di*$%ead i am i forgot to turn the fuel tap to on (long time between bikes lol) second kick and she roared to life, rattles all gone and she revs nicely, tacho sits just under 2 grand, but doesnt sound like she is revving that hard....
still got a few problems to sort out, the tacho (see above) cant get the button start to work, the horn doesnt want to work and i cant get the indicator buzzer to sound.
thanks to jona for sending me the diagrams i needed but i cant work out the wiring for the problems yet.
so if any of you cb oldtimers  have an "idiots" level tutorial on where what wire goes and what wire it joins to please help an eager but unknowing rider
cheers all

mate - will talk you through most of it pretty easy - but two tired, jonesy and some others on here are THE GURUS when it comes to electrics... and the SOHC clan of bikes.

there is a link to another site called "oldmanhonda"  -  google that and look under the interactive wiring diagrams, and it will show you IN COLOUR, if you press the on/off buttons as to which circuit you need, then follow the screen and your bikes wiring to check it out..

there you go...... :)

thanks mate, great help....
one problem i found is that the diagrams i have arent right for my bike, they have things missing or miss particular colour wires (brown with a blue stripe i think)
i`ll check out the link now...
one thing i need to know, my neutral switch is playing up, thats why my button start isnt happen, can it be adjusted/fixed or do i need to find a new one?

i was getting so damned frustrated with these niggling little problems, but as soon as the old girl fired they were all forgotten hehehehehehehehehe
cheers mate
