Bobber fenders..
« on: February 09, 2008, 12:52:08 AM »
Does anyone know where to buy or find a bobber fender? The one i'm talking about is the rear fender that comes up halfway from the top of the tire down to the back of the inside frame.

Also, if i have a 18inch wheel on the back, how do i know how thick of a fender i need to buy, or how it'll fit, my bike was converted to a hardtail by sectioning the subframe, so it's still the stock frame setup..

                                                                                            Thanks,
                                                                                                        Jason B

What kind of bike?  If it is a honda you could do what I did and take the rear half of the rear fender and turn it around.  Fits exactly like you are talking about and already has the bolt holes and all.  Here is a pic.

OMG! Thats genius! .... the trailing edge on mine is bent (tree fell on it, grrrr) and I`ve been eyeballing it for over 2 weeks now trying to decide exactly where I wanted to cut it. I think you might have just provided the answer, THANKS!

Thanks for the advice guys, i dont know if the stock fender would fit, because i bought the bike as it is, and dont know if the rear tire is stock....     The above rat bobber is mine, and the photo on the bottom is the fender i'm looking for to do....

Does anyone have any ideas how i should attach the fender on my current setup, and from where?

What I did for my CB500 was to break out the dremel. I traced the desired angle. and masked it off with tape, then I carefully sawed it off with the carbide blade attachment. Then I used that flexible door trim that you can buy at AutoZone. It turned out great.

I got this idea on here.

Thanks gregwait, thats another idea i can add....though it does take a bit of fabrication..

gerhead: sorry, i wish i did, that is the best looking CB750 i have ever seen, i keep on looking at it for inspiration and drool....   I found the picture on ebay, this guy who is selling schematics for wiring a cb750 bobber/cafe racer has this picture on as an example...could be his though...
