Wow!

Considering I can lock up the front wheel on my K1 with the stock single caliper, I'd have to say yes,  but I still like the way it looks! ;D

I will shim out the disks and shave the backs of the 6 pot calipers and give them
a try. I need all the braking help I can get for my big butt

I'd say you're on the right track, but floating rotors would really make them calipers happy.

Post some pics of the mounted brakes and a test report when your done.

98 Honda CBR600 F3 rotors are 300mm and have virtually the same bolt patters as the CB rotors.
You could easily file the bolt holes the little they need.
The centre hole is 58mm ID.
Very easy to fit to the old CB hubs, are Honda parts and cheaper than Ducati rotors.

There is a set on feebay right now at $11.50 for the pair with 18 hours left. No they arn't mine.

Cheers

I think that would worry me more than locking up the front tire
tucking the front end under the bike and me going over it wouldn't be pretty

Wow Jim - that is mucho stopo! Add a 16mm piston master, steel lines and you'll never want for brakes. My green drag bike has dual 4 piston calipers on it and it's way more than the tire can hold, but sure does feel good when needing to shave speed quickly - I found a new late model remote reservoir master made for dual calipers from Parts Unlimited for about $150 that works perfectly.

Anyone ever seen a dual piston master cylinder? I saw one years ago at a swap meet, I think it was a Lockheed, it was NOS, and I thought then how good it'd be for a dual front brake setup, and how easy it'd be to bleed the brakes etc, but the seller wanted too much money for it, so I had to let it go. Pity, I could use it now........... Cheers, Terry. ;D

Ok guys I settled on some RC51 rotors
320MM Floaters with a 6 hole mounting pattern
will have to make spacers and then mounting plates for the six pot calipers
but that should be easy
The Brembos only had a 5 hole pattern and the CBR600 rotors just didnt look right
will post pictures next week

You can never have too much brakes. (You can have too much application though)
Just have to learn to used them, (and, like Douglas Adams said in Hitch hikers Guide to the Galaxy, 'DON'T PANIC')  ;D

instead of using four fingers to grab the brakes I will have to use a very light 1 finger application

like you said

Its a matter of feel
