Yea, I can see where the gas and seafoam will be defeated with the crud in the tank.

I understand that Shell gas has to say V-Power on it, might be premium only, I dunno.  I run premium (I know what people say) and it is in that.

I have read that Shell V-Power has 5 times the amount of detergent than EPA minimums.  Might be why.  I think Chevron also does this as well.  This might be why my carbs have become darn near maintenance free.

If I hadn't seen this much difference, I would not say anything.  I hate carb maintenance myself.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

:D Thanks

Maybe I'll get the beast buttoned up tonight after school.  I'm interested to see what the new coils/wires/caps/plugs do in conjunction with fresh gas and clean carbs! :o

+1 on the Shell V power Kit, Jaffa works at a Shell station and pushes the stuff 100%, all our vehicles run better on it even my old 650.

My V4 1200 is a flippin' nightmare.  If you are lucky, you can get one of the hoses connected in 45 minutes.  That one is easier than getting to the 4 YICS hoses.  I need to replace those on mine, they are aging and heat beaten.  Easy entire weekend job just to do those 4 hoses.  I could go on but I wont.

I love talking mechanics with newer harley riders.  (the ones who feel like they're being manly, just changing their oil/battery) if their bikes are carbed, they have NO IDEA where it is.

You might be able to manufacture a manifold and put a 48mm side draft Weber on that sucker!

MickeyX is gonna take pictures today, we're goin' out for a ride!

Last night, before dinner, I had everything buttoned up (used the regular fuel line up to the clear fuel filter, then clear line from the filter up to the petcock, running thru the stock black spring). Looks sharp!  The gas comes out of that tank so clean and clear lookin sometimes it's almost hard to tell it's flowing! :D

She fired right up, and though she idled a little ratty when cold (about 3C here) she was smooth as a sewing machine when warm. Great throttle response, too!

Yeah, you remember MickeyX... the one who rides a Harley... while we are waiting for Kit's HONDA to stay running long enough to actually get out on the road.  ;D ;D ;D

Ah, I can't pick on her. I'd like one myself some day, just smaller, like a 550 or 400. That 650 is way too big for me.  ;D

Heading for b'fast in the car. It's not a good idea to go riding on that particular road when you're kinda new on a cycle.  :-\ When we get back, we'll be taking the bikes out for a cruise and I promise I will get picks of the CB. Should I get some with Kit on her? She'll be in her leather chaps... woohoo!!!  :D :D ;)
1969 CL350 Scrambler... almost done!!! Well, until something else goes wrong. :)

Leather chaps! sounds dangerous....get someone to take one of you two together with your bikes, it would be nice to know exactly who we are in contact with on here sometimes. ;)

Ok, HUSH! I took pics for you.  They canceled school today for the snow, so I had all morning to put my dandy chrome strip on my seat. :D  Then I went out, took pics for you and cranked her up.  Didn't like the cold much, ran for awhile but kept kinda wanting to bog down.  I guess considering it's -1C here, that justifies motorcycle hibernation.

(Ok, I lied, that's not the pic I took that day... it's another snowy pic.  The pics I took that Hush is talking about may be lost forever... sorry.)

So those are not your original shocks? they look real standard to my eye.
Have you noticed a difference, like can you touch the ground without being on tiptoe?
1 degree or lower URRGH we get the occasional frost here during spring but it has never snowed in Napier ha ha......I guess we can ride all year round. ;D

I can touch the ground real well. Well enough to be able to comfortably rock my bike back and forth, like I usually do before starting the bike, just to get the gas in all the little passages.  My original shocks didn't have the big chrome dust cap on them- just spring up to the top... (reference some of my old pics)   but yea, I can firmly dig my heels in now.  Thankfully! I was backing her out of the shop just a tad so I didn't fill the shop with exhaust, and accidentally went down the little 1" drop that starts the downhill ramp out.  I was able to push her up and back in myself, which, without the shorter shocks, I would've never been able to do.

Ah the old slosh the gas around and peer with one eye into the tank to see if there is enough gas in there trick!
Probably stirs up more crud than you want but might also clear your filter enough to start the bike ha ha ha..........
