Cheers Pinhead, I've looked at that but we don't have access to stuff like that from our shops.

Hey all, no new news, but I just wanted to say I just went through the whole thread and either fixed broken picture links or updated some information.

Delilah has sort of been parked for the last few months as I've been so busy with school I'm either doing homework, in class, at my clinical rotation, or sleeping.  I haven't had much of any time to do anything bike-related but I go out to the garage and crank her up every now and then just to make sure things stay lubricated.  I long for a time when I don't feel like I'm running from one thing to the next to the next and can get into something that I really enjoy again.  (part of the vacation from bike-wrenching, too, is the fact that wrenching = parts $$ (or toys, or bling, or...) which = $$ and with tuition, books, etc etc that's not happening real soon either.

It did my heart and soul some good, though, to putz on here today and re-read the whole thread.  It's tough going to school for something new and feeling like you don't know anything about anything, because the people training you are already masters of their trade.  This thread just reminded me that yes, there are things in this world I can claim to be pretty decent at.  ...and thank god for that. :)

Reminds me of the joke about the heart surgeon and the motorbike mechanic, the mechanic was comparing his income with the surgeons and bemoaning the fact that the doc got considerably more.
"I have practically the same job as you though" the mech says "I remove the heart of the motor and reset valves to get the bike running in good condition"!
"Ah" says the surgeon, "try doing it while the motor is still running"! :D

Don't beat yourself up Kit, sounds like you are suffering from overbikeitis, common amongst us tinkerers. :)
Take a break from it, catch ya breath, plan a decent road trip with Mickey next riding season. ;)
If med school doesn't work out for you then try an adult motorbike mechanic apprenticship, you are partway there. :)

Delilah is up for sale, now that she's been running nicely for the last year or so... it's time to move on.  I don't think I'll get what I've put into her, by a long shot, but she's been a phenomenal learning experience and we've both come out better than we'd started.  I guess that's all you can ask, right?

I went through this thread and copy/pasted everything for my own records, a build diary, I guess.  Somewhere around page 28 I thanked everyone for their time and input.  I want to thank people again.  Many have left... Hush no longer has Blondie, Martino's been MIA forever... but my learning experience would never have been as fruitful as it was without everyone chiming in.

I think she'll be going to a good home with someone who'll love her like I do, and that's pretty important.
