Winter Project Ready to Go
« on: February 07, 2008, 05:36:05 AM »
Just wanted to say thanks to the forum. I received tons of helpful info for my winter project this year. The biggest help being info on jetting. Hopefully it clears up today so I can go for a spin and see how it runs. This site is the best (bike started out as a rough 74-750)
Thanks Dave

Great Job!  Do you have any before pics?  Also where did you get your K&N Pods at?

Great job Dave! How about some details - paint? plug wires? (dyna?), what else have you done to it? And yes any before pics?

Looking forward to hearing about that test ride!

cheers
Andy

Thanks,
I made the mistake of not taking any pictures before. Pods are from a local cycle shop. I used a large competition baffle in the exhaust. Sounds great, but between the pods and the baffle I had a hard time jetting for a decent idle. I can't wait to see how it is on the road. I guess if it was an old car you could call it a "restomod". I wanted to keep the old hot rod look with some modern upgrades

Paint is house of colors Tangerine, motor is stock with new gaskets, clutch and any other maintenance items replaced. NOS wheels and spokes with Bridgestone modern sport bike tires. Powdercoated frame and I cut off the airbox tabs and rear peg mounting bars for a cleaner look. 2" lower front and rear with new fork rods and shocks. New faces on gauges. Lower bars. Polished all the engine covers. Dyna Ignition system. Lots of NOS parts (I'm putting Terry @ Western Hills Honda kid through college)
After I get all the bugs out I would like to put braided lines on the front brakes and make a better hanger for the muffler, and play with the sprockets for some more grunt. Last year I redid a K6 to original, but you can't really mess around with that like you can with something like this. This is fun, nothing is really correct
