Alright, watching the tach drive gear in the valve cover and rotating crank 2 full revolutions, I have found the tach drive gear is 2:1 Camshaft : Tach drive gear revolutions. So, a trigger wheel with 2 mising teeth 180* from each other should produce a valid cam signal. now, I just need to figure out a way to mount a trigger wheel and sensor.

Look at something from an old contour I believe, 90's with an optical ignition. I haven't looked at your thread at all, though I intend to, so I don't know if this is something you have looked in to

Haven't worked on cam sensor anymore. Working ok now with batch fire after sourcing some smaller injectors. Fought with it running badly all summer. Turned out injectors had been slowly clogging. Lol. Running good again just in time for cold weather. Try again this summer

Also I have added a board to plug the micro module into that adds stepper idle control for the cbr600rr itbs I switched too. Not possible to run sequential now. Not enough outputs. Maybe go with ms3 pro sometime. Bought a 2013 cbr500r to actually ride while the efi 750 experiment continues. Lol

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would try to ask some of you guys a quick question as I'm in the process of building an EFI conversion for my cb550 with the hybrid 650/836kit engine.

you guys using the ltr450 pump......I caught where someone said it was about 50liters per hour flow rate (about 14 gallons per hour)....but what's the running psi of the pump itself before a regulator comes into play? Summit racing has all kinds of $35 electronic in-line pumps in the 18-25gph range but psi is usually somewhere in the 4-9psi range and I know these injectors should see above 40psi, Just trying to see if there's a better alternative to paying $150 for a used ltr450 pump if I can buy brand new pump and regulater for less.

I would love to see someone "produce" a turnkey EFI system for sale, even if manufactured from other parts.

I think it was Cal that told me that the R6 Yamaha, not sure which model though, has an external fuel pump, i'll be looking into this soon.... ;)

The 1000 with the billet block will be injected.. ;)

I am already working with Ricks Motorsports to develop a charging system that will handle it. It definitely wouldn't be cheap, but it is WAY badass...

Having issues with 1978 Honda SS750 carb boots from Vintage Cycle I'm running CR29's.  The boots don't seem to line up or seal as well as I'd like there must be something better. Anyone?? Thanks. Willl

Thanks for the update. Are you able to give me an indication of price for both  the charging system upgrade and injection system. I really want to do this and make sure I can budget for it.

Its not quite that simple Tim, the injection so far is basically injectors and you have to set the rest up yourself, there is no "kit", buy yourself a set of 2002 GSXR600 throttle bodies in the states somewhere and have them sent to Justin to be modified, thats what I did, you then have to buy the sensors, alter the harness and buy which ever system you want to run it all like, microsquirt, megasquirt, haltech, or what ever you like. My advice is to start googling and read as much as possible about aftermarket FI on motorcycles, Justin has baseline settings if you go with the system he is using, that will get you up and running, you still have to tune the system to your bike, as far as I'm aware, there are no plug and play systems anywhere....... I've found it hard here to find anyone that knows much about converting a carb bike to FI, RPE engineering in NSW do but they use Haltech and its bloody expensive, not that this is a cheap conversion anyway....

No Tim, I've got a million other things to do first, Its the last one because I'm keeping it, I grabbed the parts while Justin was working his out simply so I could get it while I could, he does good work and I knew he'd get busy real quick, as far as I know, Justins bike isn't finished either, I'm sure he'll fill in the blanks... I'm in the middle of putting my Kawasaki 750 back together, having a hard time getting into the shed ATM, its so bloody hot, even at night    :o.... ;)

When doing these EFI conversions, how much concern is there about the dia of the TB's? It seems like 2002 GSX-R600 (which made 115hp) would flow much, much more air than a ~70hp 750. I guess when you're not dependent on vacuum for the fueling system to work it just doesn't matter.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Retro - You definitely got your timing right... I got slammed soon after I finished up that set of TB's for you. You are correct in saying my bike is not finished yet either. I got busy with the parts manufacturing and building bikes for other people and have not had much time to build my bike. I work on it a bit here and a bit there when I can afford some time. I have some bigger plans for it than what I originally planned for it. So it's on the back burner for a while till I can devote some more time and funds to it. It will definitely be an attention grabber....
