finished putting the wheels back together...wish i could go without rotors because they look so good...oh well, enjoy

What did you use to put them back together? Rivets. It looks like allen heads. Did you put them on a truing stand and see if they went back together allright?

allen caps screws and acorn nuts...will check them this week and see how it all worked out...fingers crossed ;)

Superior work on that oil tank Deftone. 

Not many are game enough to take the Comstar apart.  I'm hoping it goes well for you and would like an update!

Dang those wheels turned out awesome. I sure hope they are straight or can be if they have to be adjusted. I can't wait to see them on the finished product. Course now I want those for my bike.. so back to ebay, craigslist...

Funny you did a gold lip I was debating on doing a gold lip on mine. I have a crap load of extra gold leaf and was debating on leafing the lip. The project looks SICK!!! Great job!

i have not had it calibrated or on the road yet so i'm not sure how that's going to work but there is some extensive directions and tech support so it should be ok...they actually sell adapters that adapt to stock speedo set ups but there is not one specific to the cb's ...i think they have one i'm going to try though to see how it pans out...i'll post up once it's dialed in...

Great, looking forward to it.  I like the looks of that one better than the Koso line.  It's not so much the price with them, it's how bulky they are.  I like the single cylinder look of this one.

Friday

got a little closer but i think my mechanic crossed a couple wires on the voltage regulator cuz we smelled burning...here's a pick that day...



Saturday

much progress was made...got oil lines ran (except for the supply line because i miss placed a fitting but it's not quite ready to fir up yet anyways...



rolled her out of the garage to get a look in the daylight...seat still not done but it's looking great.....

Monday

oil fitting and tach block off come in the mail...i was told they'd be here by saturday but i was lied to...oh well, more time to get stuff ready...put those parts on, hook up plug wires...2nd try she fires right up...running a little ruff but running...bleed the front brakes and roll her around the block...finally after nearly 2 years this thing is moving...too late to snap pics besides tomorrow i'll have the seat..

Tuesday

picked up the seat...got her all put together....dialed in the timing but unfortunately the voltage regulator is not charging the battery so i will not get very far....not 100% it is toasted but going to order one anyway just to rule it out (unless you are in the northern IL area and happen to have a rick's regulator /rectifier laying around you'd like to sell)...here are a couple of pics of it together...once i get her dialed in i'll get some better quality pics shot and posted...til then the camera phone will have to do...i'm planing on driving her to rockerbox this weekend so if u r there stop by and say hey....i'll also post up some info on dialing in the speedo but for now, the indicators, oil pressure, neutral light, clock and digital tach all work flawlessly! thanks for looking

Kudos.. Very nice build.. Your first post you said you were were a noob.. but now I know that
was an out right lie!

I was expecting.. nay, hoping to see a "John Player Special" theme when I first saw  the gold
frame and black accents.. so the white gold tank was a suprise. I really like what you've done
to your cb750SS.

first off, beautiful bike. great color scheme. nice to see something besides black and red. after you ride it a bit it would be nice to have a report on clearance in the back between that plated section and the tire. I have been reluctant to take up that space on my bike but it sure makes a great place for a battery.

Very slick.  Nice work.

Still quite curious about your review of that tac/speedo/idiot lights/turnsignal/can opener/tax software gauge you've got there.  Looks very clean and uncluttered.
