I'm in the middle of restoring my CB750K3 (repaint everything, relace wheels, engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, etc. etc.). More specifically, i'm in the middle of rebuilding the engine. In the process of getting into the bottom half of the engine, my manual says to remove the alternator rotor. There's a bolt on the end of the crankshaft holding the rotor on that i can't seem to get off. I haven't had a chance yet to have a friend hold the bolt on the other end of the crankshaft while i turn the one on the rotor side. This seems about the only way to keep that thing from spinning while i crank on it. That bolt's not threading backwords for some reason is it? The manual mentions a rotor puller. Is this necessary? Any body have any helpful hints about getting the rotor off?
thanks a bunch - casey g
