sohc 750 k4 lazy oil light

oil light does,t immediately come on but will after starting  for a few minutes ,.

It should come on immediately when you turn on the ignition (lamp test mode) and go out as soon as oil pressure exceeds 7#'s or so.

Mine only works after its been started and warmed up a little, then kill it and the light pops on.  When its cold it won't do anything

(1) Remove wire from oil light switch/sender.
(2) Turn key on.
(3) Momentarily ground the disconnected wire and observe the light. It should light right up when you ground the wire. If not, replace the switch/sender.

Mine has been doing that for a long time so I put a gage on it just to know for sure.

Mine was doing the same, I took it out and gave it a few taps on the floor, been working sweet ever since.  Contact resistance went from a few Kohms down to half an ohm.  Might be worth giving it a try with yours.

Its an awkward SOB to get out - you won't have to drain the oil.  Hard part is finding a wrench to fit it and the area around it.  I resorted to grips, I hate using butchers tools like that but couldn't find any other way.
