Resurrected a Bonnie

My general contractor and friend has a beautiful, restored '67 Bonneville that he bought like 12 years ago and never had the guts to ride.  I had to update the electrics and of course rebuild and tune the carbs, change oil etc to get her started again but wow what a sweet ride.  Smoother than my Commando and feels like a new bike.  I have to admit that the stock nerd bars are sooo comfy too.

Anyway I charged him for the 3 days of work it took by about half and a lot less than he charged me to finish my basement!  He's selling the bike and I want it and the wife says no :(

Take the wife for dinner, buy her flowers and wine, then pop the question again. One of my favorite bikes! I had a '68 that I bought new and traded for a '69 CB750. The Bonnie is a great bike.

          Ah yes, I imagine there are a number of us who regret selling, at least one bike fuzzy. :-\ You know what they say about "Hindsight" and "Foresight". I have that problem myself (with motorcycles & cars).

          Maybe, if you'll assure him that you'd take extra special care of the Commando! ;) :D

I have the '67 TR6 version of basically the same machine.
A great ride !
The bike is so narrow and light, unlike other machines that we love.

+1. Or do what I do and just don't tell her. If she asks what it's doing there, just say it's a job you're doing for a pal, and there's no rush as he doesn't ride much any more.............  ;D

tell her its an investment for your future and that bikes like this are appreciating in value fairly fast these days, in ten yeads it will be worth two or three times what you pay for it, can she get better results from a bank? lol  ;):D
