'81 Virago compression
« on: February 15, 2008, 09:25:27 AM »
I just found an ad on Craig's list for an '81 or '82 (guy can't remember which) Virago 750.  Says it runs fine, has new tires and battery, and the only thing wrong with it is the front caliper releases slowly(no biggie).
I'm not able to buy it for myself but a friend is looking for a cheap bike to re-familiarize himself with motorcycling and a Virago would be good for that (I think).  The guy is only asking $575 obo.

Question:  Does anyone know what the compression specs are for this bike?  If my friend is interested I'd want to take my compression tester with me to check the bike over and make sure he's not going to find himself needing an overhaul in the next few months.

Thanks

no,but i would think as long as you get over 130 lbs or so it ought to be ok and just make sure they are all within 10 percent of each other too.
