CB550 Dyna-S Install
« on: February 13, 2008, 01:26:20 PM »
Maybe I'm too tired or had too many but for some reason the printed instructions don't make sense. Does anyone have pictures of an install? Maybe I need a break and it will be easier, been working on my 550 engine all week  :P

I have a 750 with a Dyna-S.  2 questions: Q1: Which part are you having trouble with?  The plate install or the wiring?  Q2: is a 750 install similar enough for pics of my install to help?  :-\

I think I was too tired and trying to read the instructions confused me.  Got it sorted now, but a pic of what it looks like installed will help me confirm my install  ;)

This is a '76 750K.  Note that grommet is missing.

If I recall correctly, the grommet didn't fit over the thicker wire bundle (Dyna-S wires) - that's probably why Mike and I don't have them installed.  I still have the grommet and that's a good thing 'cause I'm goin' back to points and installing the HondaMan Hybrid ignition.  Wahoo!

the grommet fits, it's just very difficult. i start by cramming the plastic connector for the red wire through first. if you get that through, the others are gravy. just do them one at a time. don't listen to people who say you have to cut it to make it work.

Sure.  I have the original box and stickers :) but no directions.  There are PDF's of the manual floating around, however.  On the side of the box, it says Part No: DS1-2, Description: HONDA 500/550/750 four
