Can't remember what I paid for the new 1969 CB750. I traded a '68 Bonneville plus some cash for it. It only lasted 5 weeks before it was written off. Then, $1625 for a brand new 1971 CB750 in September 1971. Still have it, watched it come out of the shipping box. Not sure how amy members can say that but I hope there are some that recall what it was like to see a 4 for the first time. Stunning motorcycle and still is.

I paid £520 for my '78 550K, that was eighteen months ago.

I fitted the hagon rear shocks and BCR pipes not long afterwards.

It's now in an array of pieces whilst I rebuild/modify/personalise it.  It will probably owe me in the region of £2k by the time I'm finished, completely unrealistic if I were to sell, but seeing as I won't be selling, who really cares ;D

Ready-to-ride K1 only needed gas and air in tires included a perfect extra set of unstamped HM300 pipes and 2 boxes of good parts. Bike had 25000 miles, garaged, oig owner, ran perfect, under 100 miles from me.
 $400

I thought I paid $1750 for my brand new 1973 CB750.  It was difficult to know the exact price, as I traded a 7 month old CB350F in on the deal.  The 350F cost me $1150, but once again, there was a trade-in involved.  The trade in was an XL250 that I got new from the dealer in trade for my 1956 Corvette with the optional hardtop.  I've been kicking myself for 36 years over that deal.  In poor condition that Vette could be traded even for a brand new Vette today.  So, lets see,  If you follow the trades,  it looks like I gave a total of about $1200 cash plus a $50,000 Corvette for my CB750.  I'm betting that is the worst deal ever made. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Hmmm...  I've never bought a ready-to-ride SOHC4, didn't know that was an option.  Thanks for the idea, though. ;D ;D

How the heck do you guys find these ? !!!!  Been looking for over a year, never found anything close to those prices...finally gave up and paid $500 for a non-runner - which I still haven't picked up, but I'm extrememly happy with it as of now.

Great finds fellas
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

it's getting hard in portland, because the vintage thing is really picking up here, but i still find good deals. the engine i'm rebuilding now came out of a free cb750 K3. the rest of the bike is in great shape.

The 550 was a freebie from my brother in law.  I have about $1000 into it, but it's pretty much all set (needs mirrors)

The 77 F2  (20K on it) I paid $1100 for it in September 07 - a Craigslist find.  Mechanically it's very sound it does need some cosmetic work and a good mechanical once over.  I already have a new seat,  looking forward to sand blasting the Kerker and giving the bike a new paint job.

9/1970: My CB750K1 was $1695 plus tax, not counting the $200 "get in line" fee so I could have one.
9/1971: My (current) CB750K2 was $1750, looked just like my avatar!

I guess it depends on how you define "ready to ride"...

I picked mine up for $800. Technically it was ridable, but it was only running on 3 cylinders and the tires were dry rotted. Another $200 and then it was safe to ride!
