How do you SOHC4.net?
« on: February 16, 2008, 03:52:29 PM »
How do you SOHC4.net? Do you lurk in the shadows? Is SOHC4.net you homepage? (it's one of mine) Do you check it daily? weekly? How many times a day? Do you ask questions only or do you contribute as well? Do you venture into the other SOHC4.net boards? Do you greet new members? (it's been a while for me) Are you spawled out on the couch with a laptop (like me) or cramped in the spare room with the rest of the junk and your wifes sewing machine? What does this forum mean to you and how do you use it? I have to say I'm addicted and always check it out several times a day. Do you worship Hondaman?

My name is Canuck and I am an SOHC4.net-aholic

I must admit I'm addicted to this site. I use it as my home page and check it at least one a day if I'm near a PC.

I hit refresh about 10 times an hour when I'm near the computer.  I read more than I post.  I don't consider myself expert enough to answer alot of the questions, but I try to help where I can.  I use the forum to answer my questions and give Terry grief(Terry, you're tops for taking all the kidding).  I consider you all internet friends and potential real life friends and would like to meet as many of you as possible sometime in life.

My girlfriend says I'm obsessed with motorcycles.

I use the "Show unread posts since last visit." and "Show new replies to your posts." options mostly to see what the active threads are and who has replied to threads I've posted to.

My wife says the same thing.

Once when talking about football with my sister she asked me if I played fantasy football.  I told her " No, I play fantasy motorcycles"  :D

I'm currently sprawled out on the couch with my wireless laptop with the NBA Saturday Allstar shootaround/slam dunk contest on.  I just made chocolate chip cookies and haven't got my online motorcycle fix yet today.

The forums are saved in a Google toolbar bookmark.  I always go to new replies and unread posts.

I check the site more on the days that I work  ;D ;D ;D

I post when I have something of value to say, usually it's commiseration like with Spikeybike  :'(

As I'm still learning this site is an invaluable resource.  Sometimes when I'm working out in the garage I plastic wrap my laptop and take it out there with me.

I have been working nights for about three years.so i get home at about 1 or 2 am.
well there is nothing on the tube, everybody is snoozing.so i end up playing on line poker and surfing the net,or trying to teach myself how to play guitar (not going well at the moment)during these winter month's.
i have this site book marked.so after checking my emails i usually come straight here, have a peek at the Babe thread, read some funny jokes then on to the tech stuff which i end up reading for hours before realizing what time it is.
i belong to a few differant forums.but none compare with the wealth of knowledge, wit and all round friendliness found here.

I frequent a number of forums, to see what's going on and my main place is here with hondatwins coming in as a close #2. The folks here are great (as are their bikes and knowledge) and that's why I hit on this one several times a day. I'm mainly "Honda Oriented" but, also just like bikes as a whole. I'm not as knowledged as some are but try to kick in when and where I can. Can a person belong to too many forums? I think I do cause there are some who get very little, and sometimes none, of my attention. I probably DO need to cut back on my memberships cause I'm sure not going to cut back on my visits to the SOHC4 or Hondatwins.

BTW, my wife ALSO thinks I spend too much time on the computer with you all too! ::) Oh Well, Life goes on! ;)

Every day, at least twice a day. I'm hooked big time and it is only this forum which keeps seasonal depression from taking hold in me. If I can't ride my bike then at least I can talk about bikes with other bikers and life is still good.
There are old bikers and there are bold bikers but there are very few old, bold bikers.

Not doing what you can to make your bike ride-able during the best riding months of the year kind of defeats the purpose of owning it in the first place.

This is not my home page, but probably my second or third page I hit each time I get on the 'net. I read far more then I contribute, since I am a relative n00b to the site and have more questions then answers these days. I have even kind of fallen by the wayside on the Old School BMX board I am a mod on since the SOHC4 bug bit me hard. I tend to go overboard and submerse myself in my hobbys... my garage is full of bikes, parts, and motorcycles and parts, my bathrooms are full of catalogs and motorcycle mags, my closet contains probably 5 items of clothing that are not bike or motorcycle related, hell I don't remember the last dream that I had that didn't in some way relate to motorcycles.

I need help.
