And here we go - why have such rules in the first place? I mean, if you want to ride without a helmet, then feel free, but pay for the consequences (e.g. higher insurance, etc).
On the other hand - this gentleman emigrated to Canada in 1989 (if i read this right) - when i was working on the cruise ships, the very popular saying was "nolike?-gohome!" I would say, if this guy wants to live in Canada, he should follow Canada rules. if riding in turban is soooooo important, why not go back to India, eh?
This is how the political correctness suck big time. Very soon (well, not in my country, but who knows? in my place over90% are catholic, so long way to go  ;D) You will pay taxes to build mosques and to pay for teachers teaching shariat law in your own neighbourhood.
I say - you want to immigrate? You are welcome, but follow the rules that are in place in the country. Tell me what would happen, if you would go in a top tank (for ladies) or "key west attire"  ;) in the middle of any of those islamic countries? Just imagine...

So - my opinion - this "political correctness" will cause someday HUGE problems in western society. It does already BTW...

peace....

I agree.
in Toronto ever year they put up a huge Christmas tree at city hall.
a couple of years ago some interest groups here wanted it's name to be changed to the "holiday tree" so that no one would feel left out or be offended.
ummmmm....what about offending the Christians?well i guess that doesn't matter because sure enough they changed the name.
a number of years ago an OPP officer claimed the same status and instead of the usual police uniform he was allowed to wear his turban and carry his ceremonial knife.

Oh yeah, I forgot - after all you can't say any more "Merry Christmas!" during Christmas. It's "happy holiday" now... well, what about banning "happy hanukah" or "happy ramadan"?
Anyway, like everything it goes like a sinusoid. Now it's up, then it will be down. Cutting of freedom starts already big time - surveillance cameras, speed cameras  ;D, fingerprinting at the borders (they want to implement it in Eu too..) who knows where it will end?

Looks like that sikh sum#$%* needs to wrap that f*kin turban around his motorcycle helmet or catch the boat back?! Not like I wear helmets all the time either. I may not agree with rules but I usually follow them or pay the consequences. WTF!

Judge rules against Sikh challenge of helmet law

Thats a provincial court decision.  No doubt it will eventually end up in the Supreme Court    :-X
