sohc 550. last week took my 4.00-18 rear off and replaced with 3.50-18 that would have been an original size. I havent noticed any difference in rpms since its still the same size but I think I can feel my swingarm bushings needing replacing. I have a favorite 2nd/3rd gear sweeping double s and either im pushing it harder with new rubber or the narrower new tire is tracking better. So i dont think theres any advantages. Hope that helps.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

The stock front tyre on my Katana would wear right up to the edge (when trying a bit)
Fitting only 10mm oversize (from 110 to 120) on too narrow a rim shows just how much higher the center of the tread got and how much further I would have to lean to get to the edge (the rear is there already, now i got used to them, the pics were 'new', 220 miles)
I will fall off before the front wears to the edge.
Looking at the pics, I probably should have washed the preservative off before first use, its still in the tread grooves  :o
It also means the center will wear out quicker. I found the same problem with my XS650, got a new Dunlop real cheap but it was too wide and middle wore out after only 3,000 miles (150 instead of 130) I didn't have any problems with CB550 as I fitted wider rims
