well i finally got my got my camera back so i want to update all of you on my progress
witch as moving along quite well.
the short in my harness was in the fuse box, so that had to be re-soldered (no biggie)
got all the electrical done (thank god) even relayed the headlight

the rear signals were laying around my old garage, and i don't really care for them but they will do the job until i replace them with ones that match the front

the rear brake pedal is now a matching peg, the one that burned up i got at a swap meet and i couldn't find another like it.

the rubbers for the pegs, the rear stop switch, and the exhaust gaskets should be here this afternoon, so I'll have the pipes on later today (i hope)

really feels great to be this close (again)

here is a bunch of shots for your viewing pleasure

harness all locked down

the fuse is for the headlight relays

talk about close, the ignition was mounted before i had the K&N's they are just barely touching

still have to get the lenses for the front signals

the red SS brake cable was discontinued, so silver it is

did i say mid-summer.... i ment early summer

all need is a chain, and some other odds and ends witch should be here later this week

Mike don't think it'll be ready for the Crud Run but i was tryin'

just ordered a Tsubaki 530 QR this morning from DK should have it by friday hopefully, i've herd that Tsubaki chains are the best bang for the buck, i was checking tensile strength vs. cost and that one was the highest in my price range , it was 40 and some change.  and i got the free shipping shipping cause the order was big enough (love DK)

thanks to everyone for the kind words, helping hands, and of coarse free parts

so now i have one last problem, as you can see my oil light is on now before i start chasing wires, the oil pressure switch was not touched by the fire.

the only thing i did differently was switch to 20w50. at the fear of turning this into an oil thread. a simple "that shouldn't matter" is all I'm looking for here.

the bike only ran for 4 or 5 minutes to set the timing and sych the carbs, I'm not familiar with 20.50 so i was hoping maybe it takes longer to build pressure, ......you cant tell from the crappy sound in the vid but it sounded freakin' great  ;D ;D

Great job! and the oil weight shouldn't matter.  I have used 20/50 with no effect on the oil light function.  Maybe the wiring harness is slightly different?  Maybe the switch has shorted internally?

WELL DONE SPIKEY!!!!!!  ;D

Great job man, sounds melodious.

One thought on the oil light..... are you sure that the lit bulb is indeed the oil pressure light. Just wondering since you've got those cool turn lights that stay on that maybe the winker light indicator is in the oil hole and the winker light is staying on.

I've mixed it up with the neutral light before  ::)

Also, if the wire for the pressure switch is touching the case where the connector is under the left cover, would that not make it stay on too?

 Matt.

20/50 shouldnt matter

i would swap out the oil pressure sender if at all possible.  a busted diaphram is a likely culprit and a common occurance even without a fire.

helluva job there spikey

one question...  are you on crack?!
2 1/2 months!  look at that first pic on page one then watch the vid... either you have a serious amphetamine abuse problem or you can't put down the wrench... either way, the addiction served you well.   ;)
