Not all of them died that way. One was killed by an unfortunate gardening accident if I recall.

Did your Dyna hook up ok?  your wiring looks like mine I installed.
I only hope the high heat didn't mess up the magnetics of the peices....

Thats a quick rebuild Spikey, I admire your tenacity/dedication.   And that thing looks nice

it's going so quickly because 1. i've done most of it once already ;) 2. it's getting nice out and i really want to ride it  ;D

When you get it hooked up, you can make sure its working with a test light, per the dyna instructions.

Must compliment you on your choice of (Belgian) beers thought! 8)

Here in the UK, Stella = Wifebeater, usually drunk on a Saturday night by the knuckle draggers.

What you need is a nice cask ale!

but what if i'm a knuckle draggin wifebeater  ;D
Stella might not be my choice either but for the special beers I was looking at the Delerium Tremens under the Stella...
Always like them special beers :P

Manny,  you still coming on the Crud Run w/ us?  I've got a new chain coming for my 550 this week, and I'll tune it up this weekend, let me know.

Meh, I'm a dark beer fan myself.  Darker the better.  Unfortunately it's tough to find a good stout out here in the States.  I had one from the UK once that was "Harviestouns Old Engine Oil Reserve" that wasa cask-aged stout.  Pretty good.  I need someone from some other continents to get me a good local stout sampler together.  Anyone ??? :D

i finally got the, main harness and it's attachments all together, stuck in the key turned it .....  nothing   :'(
wasn't a big suprise really, ... anyway so as soon as i turn the key the main fuse pops , of coarse this could be a bunch of things.   but it's late and i have to work in the morning bla bla bla so i just called it a night

so someone call out were i should start tomarrow, and i'll go down from there till i find it ;) :D

Make yourself a test light.
A twelve volt bulb with two wires soldered to it and alligator clips attached to the wires.  These are handy to static time points, but...
Attach your new test light to the fuse clips INSTEAD of the fuse.
Any shorts in the wiring will make the lamp burn bright when you turn the key on.  But, the bulb will limit current through the circuit so things don't fry.
Now divide and conquer.
Start disconnecting things until the lamps dims or goes out.  You've found the circuit with the problem.  Chase the wires in that circuit to find the mis-wire or short.

that is essentially what i was gonna do , but i didn't think of a test light.

so basically a short will burn the light bright, and no short it will be dim (ignition on)

the more i think about this method the more i think it would've taken forever with a multimeter
