It would if I started to load it up Steph. The problem has been getting the ignition system to fire the nitrous.
The stock system wouldn't fire a small shot under load, but it did work static.
When we fitted a stronger ignition, it just melts pistons.
I think I have the problem sussed but I'm waiting on some extra data from Ernie Bransden who is out of the country for a few months.

OK.  So these next couple of runs with stock ignition will be just on the motor - no NOS?  It sounds like you could probably pull a record either way.

We have a similar problem on some large natural gas engines when we lean them out to reduce emissions.  Can't get the ignition to light off.  They switch to what's called "multistrike" mode on the ignition controller which gives about a dozen quick zaps of the plug at each firing event.  I guess at the speeds the RS spins it would affect your timing too much.  These are big slow 250-300 rpm machines we're messing with.

That's what the new system I had on it was. It fired twice per revolution, the second spark occurring a fraction of a nano second after the first one, effectively giving a double dose of spark. The only thing wrong was that the tacho could see both sparks and was reading double. If I had a 25k tacho, it would be OK. :D :D :D
I think the problem is in the ignition curve when it goes to full advance, I think it is going much to far, so until I can speak to Ernie, I'll just have to go with the stock system and hope for the best.

Didn't go Mick. In the two days leading up to it , I had a lot of pain in my lower back and hip.
I've had it before but never continuous for two days, needless to say, after sacking the idea and losing the transport, it was fine all day Sunday >:(

It's going in an AC Cobra HT, spoke to Chris earlier, he IS grinning ear to ear ;D ;D ;D

If I understood what Chris was saying, when they picked it up, it was set up on an engine brake/dyno and they have video footage.

I'll be lucky if I can still swing a leg over a bike in 30 years.
