Rotor drilling
« on: September 07, 2009, 04:05:22 AM »
G'day,

Anybody out there had their rotors drilled in Australia?
I haven't really looked into it but I thought I would ask on here first. I have a '71 CB500 with single disc. I'd like to evenutally get the rotor drilled and machined and look at restoring the caliper and lines. It's almost as much an aesthetic thing as it is about function.

Hi hummbug,
I make disc's, well i did i havn't done one in a while.
If you have a drill press you can do it yourself or even a good pistol drill.
Just find a picture of one on the net and print it to scale then use that to mark out you disc.
Center punch the holes and go for it.
Just make sure you champher both sides of the holes before you re-fit the disc.

I'm a genius trapped in the body of a dickhead

Thanks latheboy. I'm not against the idea of doing it myself but I know the limitations of my tools and abilities will take that idea and turn it into a nightmare!!!  It would  be taking a perfectly good rotor and rendering it useless....unless I had a practice one I might give it a miss!
The search continues.
Cheers
