Paranormal State???
« on: February 25, 2008, 07:25:03 PM »
OK...I am sitting here in front of my TV with no lights on freaked out....I have totally become addicted to the show Paranormal State on A&E (been watching it for 2 seasons).... 2 things:
1- do you know the show/are you hooked?
2- what are views on the Paranormal? Do you believe in spirits etc?

I have to admit that I am a very logical guy....however I totally believe in the spirit world! An odd combo I know...

Dennis

PS for those who may not get it...it is a show that is apparently real about a team of paranormal investigators and their experiences...

EDIT- adding this from the A&E website for description....

PARANORMAL STATE is a half-hour series chronicling the extraordinary life of Ryan Buell and other members of the Penn State University Club The Paranormal Research Society (PRS) as they seek to find the truth behind terrifying real life mysteries, hauntings and ghosts. In some ways, the members of PRS are your basic college kids - dealing with the problems of school, dating, and finding their way in the world. The difference is that these students are drawn to examining "other" worlds as well -- working on cases that include ghosts, hauntings and other paranormal phenomena. Each week, they are contacted for help by outside parties ranging from the Catholic Church to ordinary families who are terrified by unusual events in their homes.

1) I think the concept of the show is good but the execution isn't. They make it a little too cheesy for me. I would wrather watch Most Haunted on travel channel.

2) Until I experience something firsthand, I remain highly sceptical.

Sounds interesting to me, I'll have to check it out  :)
I like listening to Coast to Coast AM; they cover a lot of paranormal stuff, as well as space related topics. (http://www.coasttocoastam.com/)

I guess I view the paranormal as being exploited too much in Hollywood movies.  But I do believe that there is more to this world than what we see.

One of the "paranormal" topics that interests me most is Remote Veiwing.
I listened to a show about this where the "expert" said that people who have the ability to dowse for water, are actually remote veiwing. This guy could use a dowsing technique which he called remote veiwing to find just about anything, sort of like dowsing on a map. This interested me since my Grandfather taught me to dowse and I have found many water sources around the farm. I even picked the spot for my Brothers well..... and it has a lot of water  ;)

I've yet to master remote veiwing though....

Don't watch the show because that stuff Freaks me out!  I do believe in "spirits" but with more of a religious twist.  Angels and Demons and what not.
But I need Tacos!  I need them or I will explode!

I haven't seen it, but I have to say that if anyone says that they don't believe in ghosts, but still believe in God, then they're hypocrites. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I think "Hypocrites" are really "human-crites", because anyone who says they are not a hypocrite is... well...a hypocrite!  It's human nature.  I do my best to say what I mean and mean what I say.  Besides, the bible is clear that when you die your soul leaves this realm.

Of course, the bible was written by living human beings several hundred years "after the event", but as I grow older, I'm increasingly hoping like hell those guys who wrote it were right! ;D
