You got it Gordon, the plan is to paint it with Stihl orange ralley stripes and use it as a chain
saw hauler to the log sites. Right now she's running to rich and I haven't figured it out.
It's an 84 and I have an 85 Golf Gti for parts or running to.

Nice truck!  I'm surprised I can see the lineage to the newer ones.  I have a similar tuck, but this one is not mine.  I really do think these will still be around in 30 years, but I like you truck too.

Nice looking truck!  I have to disagree with you on one thing... I'm planning on having mine around in 30 years, even in I'm not ;D

Those mirrors on that Chev look suspiciously Ford like RM  ;D ;D  ;D

A very sweet looking truck I must say, always liked that era of Chev.

At the rest of being flamed  :o , I've never understood why the average Joe needs a truck. In my neighborhood, at least 20 of the 70 homes have trucks and the only cargo I've ever seen carried has been on the seat up front....no boats being pulled either.
Gas mileage can't be really good either.

Is it the looks, female attraction factor, occasional use? Of course, maybe it's like a reason to own three bikes!  ;D

Oh I agree, especially the way fuel prices are going. I personally have a truck for truck use, a lil 87' VW GTI for commuting and soon a bike. I use to only have the truck since I needed the truck for the farm, and I couldn't aford the insurance on two vehicles...

Taking the truck to town without a load is sort of silly...
...but to some, that's their only vehicle

I can't imagine living on a farm without a truck. It just seems some of the large trucks and SUV's seen in the 'burbs are more for show then need.

I agree, most folks don't need a truck. I need 3.  ;) That blue one with it's nose out the shop door is
a 72 ton 4x4. It's done more work than any 50 trucks. Now the frame is on it's finally patched leg.
I have a good frame in the field and it's going for a frame off restoration and then back to work.

The most worthless vehicle I've driven and I just drove cause it was here. Is the Porsche Cayenne S.

385 HP glorified station wagon. Full leather. A back up video screen so you can see the little kiddies as you
back over them. The son's Porsche Cayman had to go back to the shop and that's what they gave him to drive.
At 14 mpg's round here in the mountains I figure it was because they figured he wouldn't drive it much.
The perfect vehicle for drunk women on cell phones to drive.

Here's the propaganda on it.

Its kinda rough but its basically a decedent of your truck. Soon to evolve from the base SL you see here into an SLE thanx to some parts from a friend...Eventually it will have some SS traits to it as well...

That's a nice looking truck M.  I had a 69 short box years ago.  Does it have the straight 6 or the V-8?  I miss the 69 with the 292.

It's a 350 with the 4 speed and 205 Bullet proof transfer case. The 72 is also a 350. Same transfer cases in both trucks.
I have a spare 454 and have contemplated
a swap into the 72 but the 350 is a heck of a good engine. In many ways more durable than the big blocks.

Yeah those old chevy trucks are great ain't they?  Especially in major metropolitan cities.  Here's one such example.  I did note that the bed, which was previously being used as a dumpster for many months, is now empty this week.  Think the owner has all the maintenance records for it?

Wow! TT you ought to see if you can get it.  ;D Just surface rust on the hood, the rockers look great in that picture.
I envy you Californians with the no rust vehicles.
