Hey everyone. I am totally new to this stuff. Hopefully everyone doesn't tire of newbies coming on here. I just got a 73 CB500 off of ebay for 550 bucks. I drove it around for a couple of days to get a feel for it and figure out what i need to do to it. New tires, a fork seal, chain, carb rebuild, and new front wheel bearings (and new paint) and she'll be great. The bike starts easier than new bikes I have looked at. The brakes work great. There was a squeeking in the front that went away when I pressed on the brakes. They were just redone, so I am not certain what's going on. It didn't do it at first, but did after an hr riding it. I was wondering if maybe they were too tight on the disk. It's got 15,000 on it. I think I did pretty good. Doesnt leak oil, the wiring is in great shape, no rust, someone put the ignition key under the indicator lights. Anyway, I am excited. Should be fun. I am glad there is support out there for the old CB's. Thanks for any advice, help or comments!!
Oh yeah, I'm thinking about painting it hugger orange, I have some left over from painting my truck. Let me know what you think.
