Just picked up this very old Yamaha weedeater... Appears to be pretty difficult to find anything technical on it.  Anyone have any experience with these?

No, but I can tell you that most everything is going to be discontinued from Yamaha. In my experience (parts sales) Yamaha are the worst for keeping old stock and Honda is the best. I have gotten parts from Honda for a customer with a 1965 305, while Yamaha has had parts for a 1997 discontinued!
