Uh-oh...3 ohm resistor issue appeared!
« on: February 28, 2008, 09:02:22 PM »
For all of you (7 so far) who bought the 3-ohm "Resistor Pack" from me before today (2/28/08)...there seems to be a possible fit-up issue.

I sent one to 78CB750Cafe, and his Dyna coils have screw terminals on them. Mine, and all the ones I installed (circa 1980s) had 1/4" male tabs on them, sticking out of the plastic case. So, I built all 7 of these units with female 1/4" terminals on them, like mine.

But, yours might not directly fit!  :o :o

So, now...all of you who have these, and know for sure if you need this to be changed, or adapted, to ring terminals, please let me know. We can do:
1. I'll send you 2 adapters to fit between the 1/4" blade and the ring terminal, if you have screws on your Dyna coils. This is the "Plug-n-Play" method, no fancy tools.
2. or, you can send it back, and I'll put new wires with rings terminals on for you.
3. or, I can send you new wires with ring terminals already attached, and you can remove the existing wires and solder these new ones on, yourself.
4...or, whatever we need to work out.

Or, you can check and see if your Dyna coils are like mine, in which case they will directly fit. PLEASE let me know: I'll try to find all your "site names" and contact each one of you, tomorrow.

Sorry about this...  :-[

no worries here, I can handle any electrical work.  I haven't bought my new 3ohm coils yet, still saving money so will see what the new types are like. ;)

if mine havent been sent yet you can do the change but it's not a big deal for me to just put ring terminals on the wire ends.

No worries Mark, mine haven't arrived yet, but I'll need a couple sets of option 1. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
