cb500 exhaust
« on: March 01, 2008, 09:48:50 AM »
im trying to find a good exhaust for my 72 cb500. the only thing ive found is the MAC 4-1. it looks alright...but i was wondering if theres more options then a MAC or stock 4-4. i thought ive seen kerkers, some 4-2's, and what i really like is the 4-1 ive seen on the 350 and 400 bikes (the 4 collector tubes cuve together and to the right). if i could get something like that for my 500 i would be one happy camper. is the MAC the only aftermarket exhaust you can buy new for these bikes still?

Sounds like the exhaust system you want is the stock CB550F set up.

I don't think they are available from Honda, anymore.  Maybe David Silver Spares still has some.  See FAQ.
Used ones may come up for sale periodically.

I'm hoarding mine. :D

However, you will likely have to change the right foot peg, brake arm and kick start lever from and F model, too.  And, make some sort of muffler hanger bracket, as well.
