talk about a basket case. I would like to know the story behind this one. Appears to be more than one bike. I see extra parts. If anyone here buys it I'll buy the tank and pipes off you :D all the parts look to be in fantastic shape!

17.5% buyers premium, WTF is with that?

Looks like a '80 or possibly '81.
If it's a custom, why the wrong carbs?
Looks like a cb650 std.

'eh, the seller does lots of lot sales, like they know or care i bet.
Would be a good buy though! Everything looks good.
Nice looking tank as well.

17.5%?? I agree, why not just put a reserve to make a min. amount of money?

I reckon ebay gets two fees, and now three  - one listing or lodgement fee, one final value fee, and finally another fee - called a buyers premium fee... get screwed three times..

In general at live auctions - not electronic - you pay a comission to the auctioneer - being a buyers premium - that's because the auctioneer is actually trying to get more money for your item (if you are the seller) - and he is trying his damndest to get the highest price he can for your item as his earnings are based on the final auction price. In  this case I think ebay is ripping everyone another fee.. personally I would not bid on one of these auctions, soon enough there will be another fee based on what country they sell into - ie if thers is a VAt or GST component....then before you knwo it - 90% of your item cost will be in fees to ebay or an affiliate company...load of horse#$%*...

I would say a 80 custom (comstar wheels).  81 custom got a 2tone paint job.  I cant see the carbs well enough to tell which ones they are.  The carbs changed between years not models.

You are buying a bid at an auction rather than the actual bike, and all auctions charge both seller and buyer get charged a premium, usualy plus tax
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
