Any other A&P's out there?
« on: March 01, 2008, 12:09:40 PM »
I'm an A&P mechanic and have been working around planes for several years. I have always noticed how alot of people involved in aviation also have motorcycles. I was just curious if there are any other guys on SOHC4 that share the same occupation.

A&P, FCC/Radar.  Work primarily on Helicopters, part time on warbirds.  I have two co-worker connections to Cinci, where do you work?

I thought that was a Stinson. Nice lookin' bird. Post some bigger pics  :)

I drive too.... drove, I'm in College at the moment (got licence and flew for three years, than decided to get an education)

Come to think of it, a lot of (AME's in Canada) have bikes, disproportionately more so than say automotive mechanics. Maybe it's the appreciation of quality engineering, more easily found in bikes than cars. (No offence car guys)

Couple Of the Javelin Conversion aircraft....The 340 I did the test flights on for cert.

Never got my a&p started to at Mount SAC but other things got in the way, walked a flightline in RCAF worked on Expeditors ( Twin Beach, Beach 18, Exploders) Lancasters, Neptunes, Harvards. After I got out couldn't find a job in Canada, moved to California and worked at an overhaul shop in City of Industry by the name of Kuhn Airmotive on Lycoming every thing up to blown, Continental from 55Hp( in a J2 cub was a Mexican crop duster) to blown, Prat & Whitney 985s, 1340s, the occasional Kinner etc, then we got a contract to rebuild Merlins for an outfit that was, I believe sending Mustangs to south america, Bolivia maybe. Three great loves in my life my wife piston engined A/C and Bikes, not sure sometimes what order.
