coils and plug wires....

wires from coils are cracked and very stiff.  wasn't getting good spark anyway so I took the boots off and trimmed about 1/2 inch off.  cleaned all the crud out of the boots and re-attached the plug holders but the connection doesn't seem as strong as it was.  looks like it had been done in the past as well...wires are close to being too short.
Any tricks to getting a better connection ?   Better offf with new coils ?  Can you replace the wires in the stock coils ?
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Would need aftermarket coils to be able to change wires.

there are some threads on here about how to change the wires out of the regular coils. You have to remove into the coil I believe. It requires epoxy or silicone....

You can get new coils or get a used set of CB750 (1979 and later) or CB900 coils will work and they have removable wires...I have a set of CB900 coils on my K4.

cheers

there have been a few threads on the subject.
i like the NGK connectors.cut your wire about 4 or 5" from the coil, add connectors and new wire.i did it about 2 years ago and have had no issues at all
