Honda nighthawk problems!
« on: April 06, 2008, 07:20:05 AM »
Hi,
I'm posting this for a friend who owns a 92' Honda Nighthawk 250.

The problem he's having, is that when the clutch is released and in first gear, the bike won't move or even crawl.

But when he pulls in the clutch, the clutch starts to engage ....

What could be messed up thats causing this??

It goes into the gears just fine, and theres no adjustment nut for the clutch pack like you see on older Honda nighthawks.

Where they have an adjuster right on the clutch cover.

The Clymer manual doesn't even tell me how much slack I should have at the clutch handle......

Any help on this is appreciated as today is going to be REALLY NICE!!

Thank you from me and my friend Tim,
- LL

Does the drive train engage when placed into second gear? Or is it just am first gear problem?

Any gear!

Each gear goes into place just fine. It's just when you pull in the clutch the bike creeps like the clutch is engaging.
And when you release the clutch, it's like you just disengaged the clutch. E.I. the bike won't move.

The clutch looks fine, but someone told me, that the disc's could be getting stuck.

But if there getting stuck, won't they act normally when you engage the clutch to drive?? They wouldn't slip would they??

Thanks for replying!
