That is funny!.  I had a friend with a 78 or 79 Suzuki like that and it was fast at the time.  With a vance and hines it was the best sounding thing i had ever heard.  Even better than a 327 with headers and a "nascar grind" cam.

175 km/h is about 112 mph...

I guess that's about accurate for the 750, eh?  With a big fat guy riding it, eh?  Maybe since he lives so close to Canadia he just got his measurement systems mixed up, eh?  ;D

He probably read 175 in some article from Canada or the UK and thought it was mph when it was really kph.  I'd say a bone-stock GS can definitely do 175 kph

It did say MPH.  Although the k and m are close to each other on the keyboard.  The only chance of 175 MPH is to drop it out of a plane.

The other thing that caught my eye was that "new Suzuki windshield" looks exactly like a National Cycle Deflector windshield.

Huh,

I borrowed one of these when I started riding again in the late '80's. It was amply fast, but I'd say 115 was probably about it.

The only chance of 175 MPH is to drop it out of a plane.

I think 125 mph is as fast as gravity will make something fall, even from a plane! I'd say he was thinking kph and typed mph.

Actually the 78 Honda 750F would beat it in the q-mile, or so they say, I never raced against one back then ;D

I did race a 900 Kawa stop light to stop light with my 71K and stomped him. Maybe he was like Ernie though.  ;D ;D ;D

The peregrine falcon is believed to reach a 220 mph dive speed.

A skydiver terminal velocity is about 60 m/s (135 mph) and I'd say a Suzuki GS is more aerodynamic than a skydiver with a backback and stuff on.  Maybe you could get it to 150mph out of a plane, but I'm not covninced it'd do 175.

You could tow it behind an F-16 ;D

You could tow it behind an African Swallow.

Or was that a European Swallow?    ???

(sorry - I know, this belongs in the shameless thread)

Ahh but African swallows are non-migratory so the couldn't tow it anyway.
