New master cylinder?
« on: August 06, 2005, 09:42:14 PM »
I am going to buy a new front brake master cyliner but I really dont know which one I need. In the 2005 Dennis Kirk Catalog it has 2 different piston diameters for thier master cylinder pistons.  a .625 and a .55 (14mm).

Does it really matter what one I get?

Yes, Depends on your set up.

Smaller piston = longer lever pull to displace the same amount of fluid.

Smaller piston = more pressure required on lever vs. larger piston.

With dual brake calipers in the front larger piston is better

Want less force requirement on the lever? Larger piston is better.

Last month I rebuilt the M/cyl that was on my bike because it was a super clean unit, Not one speck of rust or any marks in the bore,  Then I found out it was off a 77.  I like everything oem so I found a 78 and rebuilt it.  If your looking for a real nice unit I will let it go for $60.00.
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.
